**Some people might not like this post due to it being about hunting**
My Pawpaw was a very adventurous man. He traveled all over the world and lived in a foreign country. One of his many trips while abroad was to go on safari in Africa.
Growing up, my Nana and Pawpaw's den was full of mounted animal heads including a lion, gazelles, baboon (one of the most mean looking animals I have ever seen!), water buffalo, and a wild boar; there was also a rug made out of zebra hide.
I always thought these were cool and was proud to show them off to friends that I brought over to visit. [These animals were all taken when it was legal and none of them were close to being on any endangered lists.]
When we were up visiting Mom and Dad last week, we brought home a zebra rug for our new home. I was worried that Jack and Brick would chew on the main or tail and claw the rug. I decided to unroll it and see how they reacted.
Well, they both loved it (as seen here with Jack stretched out) and there has been no chewing or clawing...yet.
I'm excited to have something that reminds me so much of my Pawpaw in our home and having something so special just makes our home feel more "ours".
