By some miracle, we had three days off together this week! On Wednesday we went out on a fun day trip with many of chris' coworkers, but more on that later...
First project of the week: hanging curtain rods.
We had been admiring Mom and Dad's curtain rods (can you tell we own a house now?) but they were the original ones that my Nana and Pawpaw had, so they were very difficult to find. Fortunately we found some online and they arrived last week.
Chris snapped a picture of me while I was attempting to screw in the brackets.
Have I said how thankful I am to have Chris? I wasn't able to put them up on my own, so Chris stopped what he was working on to come help me.
I am so glad to have curtains up now! I didn't like looking out into the backyard at night and just seeing blackness staring back at me, so I am glad for the privacy!
Second project: Chris's closet
When we came home from Catalina Island we found all of Chris' clothes on the floor in his closet, as the shelf and clothing rod had broken in half while we were gone. He had put his clothes on the guestroom bed (creating his own walk in closet) but since we are having some wonderful guests this weekend, we decided it was time to fix his closet so we got our guestroom back.
The first step was taking down the shelf that stayed up, so until we can paint it, he has a striped closet.
We found this closet kit at home depot and it is just what Chris needed.
(notice the stripes) :-)
Wow, I have a husband that vacuums? I need to capitalize on this!
Taa Daa! An organized closet.
We need to paint the back wall and reinstall the closet doors, but it sure is coming together!
We are working on big project this weekend so I will post more on that later, and about our fun day with Chris' coworkers.
Happy Friday!!
