Puppy Chow

We had some friends over this weekend and I was cooking up a storm (and dusting and cleaning and organizing, etc. etc. etc.). Here is one of the snacks I made. It has many different names but I remember it being called puppy chow.

I got the recipe from the Cooks website.

You need:
9 cups Chex cereal (or the generic brand like I used)
1 cup chocolate chips (or a little more)
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Step 1:
Melt chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter in sauce pan.
{I like using mini chocolate chips because they melt faster and I'm too impatient to wait for the big chips to melt completely}

Remove from heat and add vanilla.

Step 2:
Put cereal into a large bowl {bigger than you think you need} and pour melted goodness over. Gently stir to coat all the cereal

Step 3:
Pour cereal into Ziploc bag filled with the powdered sugar and shake to coat.
Lay cereal on waxed paper to dry.

I doubled the chocolate, peanut butter, and butter. I should have coated the cereal in the chocolate in smaller batches because they clumped together and some pieces were a little soggy. It was a good (but not so healthy) snack though.

What's your favorite thing to snack on?
