Chris actually had two days in a row this week and he has the nesting bug too it seems! We have a list of to do's on our chalkboard cupboard doors (the same list that hasn't really changed much in the last few months) and it was a really good feeling to cross some items off of it this week!
First was to hang up some picture frames we have had sitting on our table since Christmas. We turned our kitchen from THIS to a fun red and white kitchen. (I just realized I need to post a new picture of the finished kitchen!) and adding some decor to the walls was much needed!
These picture frames will be filled with photos of special people in our lives in their kitchens. Only one is filled so far and it is of my Nana and Mom together.
Next up was to hang a bulletin board above the bistro table.
I found this bulletin board at Home Goods and it fits perfectly in the kitchen. I love that it adds a different color into the red and white space and gives us a place to hang small items.
The big project during Chris' days off was to stain our front doors {finally!}.
They went from this:
Unfinished fir
TO:
Stained (Gunstock by Varathane) and clear coated!
The stain matches the floor pretty well!
We thought that staining would take a lot of work and time, but we were surprised that it was easier and quicker than we expected! We are really happy with how the doors came out {and I'm so glad to have it checked it off of our list}.
I am so glad that Chris had some days off and that he had the nesting bug! Hopefully we will have some time to get more projects done before Miss Bailey arrives!
