Last weekend I accompanied one of our supervisors to Anaheim for a conference. We were there to evaluate a new system and see if it would fit into our center. It definitely gave us some things to think about and implement so I would say the weekend was a success. It was also an eventful weekend. Enjoy!
Three eight hour days sitting at a desk taking notes, I felt like I was back in school!
We stayed down in Anaheim so we didn't have to leave at 6am each day and fight traffic. Since the hotel was very close to Disneyland, there were bunk beds in each room. I contemplated sleeping in one (just to say I did) but they were really uncomfortable, so I slept in the queen pillow top mattress.
Each room also had a cute, brightly painted table in them.
Friday night, just as I had gotten into bed {of course}, the fire alarms sounded and being on the fifth floor, I figured I should head out right away. After throwing on my sweatshirt, I hiked down the stairwell to see what was going on.
Apparently, the bus driver thought that he could fit the bus into the parking garage. Well...he was wrong and he completely sheared off the fire sprinkler, getting a car wash in the process. The driver had a difficult time, reminding me of this. After the fire truck showed up {and 45 minutes of fire alarms sounding} they got the water shut off and I went back to my room.
We had an hour lunch break every day and they had a nice patio area in front of city hall where we ate.
Just down the street was this fountain, where many kids cooled off on the warm day.
Friday night we went out to Mexican food for dinner and it was delicious! I had a cheese enchilada and it came with green (cilantro/lime?) rice and beans. It was delicious!
I also ordered chicken tacos, but I was too stuffed to eat them.
Saturday night I was able to go to dinner with my Godmother and her family. It was absolutely wonderful to catch up and spend some time with such special people. We went to the most amazing Italian restaurant(can't remember the name) and walked around the orange circle. We were so caught up in chatting that I didn't get any pictures.
Sunday afternoon I drove home and was stuck in traffic for awhile. I much prefer being a passenger when we go to larger areas, but I did just fine driving by myself.
I hope you had a great weekend! Did you get to spend time with any special people this weekend?
