We made it home! We were so glad to sleep in our own bed and be in familiar surroundings. We got home around midnight on the 16th (just in time to celebrate Chris' birthday on the 17th!) and pretty much fell into bed and passed out. I have so much to share, our vacation will be split up into parts. Here is the first part of our trip: a visit to Seattle, WA for my cousin Nick's wedding.
Seeing Mt. Rainier from the plane.
We took the Seattle central link light rail from the airport to our hotel in downtown. We passed by Safeco field where the Mariners play. It was a nice way to get around the city as we used it a few more times during our visit.
It was also Seattle's Seafair weekend, with many events and the Blue Angels airshow. We arrived earlier than the rest of my family to the hotel, so we took a taxi over to Seafair and had a nice afternoon walking around and watching the planes fly.
There was an old Seattle Ambulance on display.
The Blue Angels in action.
They were so amazing flying over the water, upside down, flying super slow and showing us all they could do.
The rehearsal dinner was just lovely, here I am with my grandmother and Aunt Lisa (Mother of the Groom). I even tried the salmon that my Aunt Lisa and Uncle Greg caught themselves near their home in Alaska.
A view of the Seattle skyline while we waited for the ferry.
One of the many ferry boats that are needed to travel around Washington.
We visited with Pawpaw's best friend Tom and he had a bell that Pawpaw made.
The wedding was aboard a dinner cruise boat that started in Lake Washington and then went through the locks and ended up in the sound (I think...) We were surrounded by sailboats, seaplanes, and party boats and the weather was just perfect out on the water!
The backdrop for the wedding.
The beautiful bride, Erin.
{Welcome to the family!}
My adorable cousin (and the groom's sister), Emmy, the hottest groomsman I have known!
My love and I.
My wonderful Dad and me.
The Wright/Crosby family!
Me and my cousin, Juliana, on the bow of the boat.
The amazing Seattle skyline at night
Earning points Mom! Helping Chris put his glow bracelet back in as his earring.
Don't make us angry dance at you!
This is how I was gotten onto the dance floor, as I was angry danced at my Emmy and Aunt Lisa. We are just returning the favor!
Uncle Robert and Aunt Holly had us all over for a brunch Sunday Morning at their lovely home on Vashon Island.
Sunday afternoon, Chris and I went around the city and our first stop was to Pike Place Market.
I loved walking through the market and seeing all that was for sale, especially all of the fresh flowers and fresh seafood!
Fresh shrimp
Such beautiful, vibrant flowers! I would have loved to have taken some home if we were staying longer.
More seafood!
These lobster tails may not look very large, but trust me, they were HUGE!
A shark in a bowl of crawfish.
Fish being thrown around!
We were looking for something for lunch and we found a crepe place! I absolutely love crepes since our honeymoon, and we ordered one that was filled with strawberries and bananas. DELICIOUS!
We went over to the space needle and before we got there we saw this banana slug statue. I had to take a ride!
We didn't head up to the top of the space needle because I wanted to save money for the second part of our trip to NY.
It was beautiful out!
Stay tuned for the other parts of our trip!
