Hugs

What kind of a hugger are you?
Do you hug with strong arms, putting all of your emotion into it?
or
Do you lightly, barely touching, pat on the back hug?

For some reason this has been on my mind lately. I come from a family of huggers: full embracing, comforting, loving huggers. Most of my friends are huggers: saying hello, goodbye, in happiness and in sorrow; we hug.

I love getting "real" hugs. The ones where you are held onto a moment longer, held close, and with strong comforting arms around you.

**Disclaimer...no, I am not saying that I fully embrace and squeeze every person I have ever hugged, that would just be odd. So my hugging personality is for my usual hugs, with people I know.**

Hugs can say a lot:
I'm sorry.
I love you.
I've missed you.
Hello.
Goodbye.
I am here for you.
I support you.
Congratulations.
and so much more!

I have been more aware that getting a "real" hug can lift my spirits when I'm feeling down and make me feel loved in an instant. I pledge to give more real hugs in my daily life and less of the stand-offish, keeping my distance hugs. Hopefully I will be at the right place at the right time to give someone a hug when they are needing a little encouragement.

I think that if we hugged each other with more sincerity, the world would have more happy people in it. So I say:

Go give someone a real hug today!

too cute mal. totally thinking about this recently.I'm like you-love the real hugs. Lately, i've been so stressed and gregg takes me to school. We used to just do our normal real hug but now before he leaves me he gives me a REALLY big long hug and sends me off to my day. makes my day so good :)
