My poor little sick girl!
She started with a 102 degree fever, out of nowhere. She didn't have any other symptoms, other than a lack of appetite. She was still running around the backyard and acting like her sweet self.
Then she woke up like this:
Red spots around her mouth and on her feet.
The number of spots increased and grew bigger, showed up on her hands, and she started complaining of pain in her hands and feet, and it hurt her to walk.
We found out she has hand-foot-and-mouth disease
The spots turned to blisters and I felt so bad for Bailey Boo.
We started around the clock Tylenol/Motrin/Cortisone cream which seemed to help.
When I took her to the doctor to get it checked {even though we were 99% sure we knew what it was and that there was nothing the Dr. could do, we wanted to be sure} the doctor said it was one of the worst cases she had seen! She gave Bailey a sticker and sent us on our way, telling me we were doing all the right things.
Fortunately, Bailey didn't get the blisters in her mouth and the medicine seemed to alleviate the pain quickly.
I'm so thankful that she is on the mend and only has a few spots remaining, although her toes did blister pretty badly and she has skin sloughing off, so Band-Aids; socks, and Neosporin are her friend right now.
This really made me thankful that Bailey is a healthy girl. Having to carry her around for a few days because of her painful feet gave me a tiny glimpse of what some other parents go through when their children are more seriously ill or disabled. I love this girl and am so happy that I don't have to see her in pain from this virus much longer.
Remember, wash your hands friends!

poor bailey boo! so glad she's on the mend! thinking of you all. if you need anything, let me know! xo
Oh my goodness! Poor Bailey! I just took Cole into the dr yesterday because he'd been running a low grade fever and sore throat. He actually has blisters in the back of his throat from hand-foot-mouth. When I saw your pictures of Bailey's mouth it dawned on me that he had a rash around his mouth Sunday evening before he spiked a fever. Luckily, we've laid low all week and haven't been out in public.
