Halloween weekend was a long one for me. Well...the week before and after Halloween were long weeks:
I was up at Mom and Dad's for a visit, came back home, worked for 24 hours, got off work at 7am, drove back up to SLO for Mom and Dad's Halloween party, left their house at 10:30 pm, got home around 1am, went back to work at 7am, got off work at 7am Monday morning, flew to Las Vegas, drove home Tuesday evening. Phew! I need a nap!
It was a beautiful drive up to SLO Saturday morning!
We carved pumpkins before the party
Dad carved a funny face and also an abstract design
Mom carved an eyeball (she works for an eye doctor and many of her coworkers were coming)
My polka dotted pumpkin.
Our house was the house to go to on Halloween when I as growing up. Dad and I would spend days decorating, getting the music and lights just right, making grave stones and spiderwebs, and glow in the dark chalk outlines.
There was much decorating {the food table}
Mom makes yummy caramel corn and everyone got to take a bag home
The warthog made an appearance over the hot food and it was a big hit.
The drink area in the atrium.
The olive tray...including the radish eyeballs Dad came up with.
Creepy!
Cleopatra and Iron Chef Morimoto
I was J.Lo (and I did have some butt padding, you just can't really tell in this picture).
My J.Lo costume was really uncomfortable and I could not see myself walking around Las Vegas in it, so I hurriedly came up with another costume. But I didn't have time to try it on, so I brought my back up cowgirl costume. {It's a good thing I did because our friend Ryan looked better in my LMFAO costume}
The main reason we were in Vegas was because it was our friend Kevin's 30th birthday. We went to the minus5 bar. It was a fun experience!
My love and I in the snow couple statues
The panda was really excited by Chris' dancing
The Panda {aka Justin}got hungry when we were walking around Aria.
All the boys:
Kevin {the birthday boy} as a card shark, Justin as the panda, Chris as Chris Farley, and Ryan as LMFAO
Chris and I at the club.
We went to Haze nightclub (in the Aria hotel) and Ryan was able to get us in for free and we walked right in, bypassing the hours-long line. Ludacris was performing later, but by 1am we were all exhausted and we didn't stay to hear him.
It was a long week but it was great to spend time with family and friends! I'm thinking next year we will stay home and pass out candy for a more low-key affair!
How was your Halloween?
