House update...

We have been really thinking about the house we put an offer in on here in Camarillo, just trying to assess it as it relates to our needs and wants. Fortunately both of my parents (on separate occasions) and Chris' mom were able to see it and gave us their honest opinions and we are so thankful that they did, giving us their perspectives as people who have all owned their own homes and helped us to see somethings that we had missed.

After thinking a lot and talking a lot about it we have decided to pull our offer and look for something that fits our idea of our ideal home. It was a difficult decision because the house had many wonderful qualities that we really liked, but the qualities that we didn't like outweighed the positives (and the bank was being a stickler, asking us to pay more than we offered and telling us that we would have to pay almost $3,000 for the termite fumigation). So, we have moved on.

We have put in an offer on another house that welike better that the first one, but again, it is a short sale which means we will be waiting on the bank to accept or reject the offer. Fortunately, this gives us more time to look at properties that are coming on the market, giving us more options to find the right home for us. So if you could keep us in your thoughts and prayers that we find the right home and everything works out, we would appreciate it!

In other news:

This is Santa Barbara: beautiful, great beach, wonderful shopping, expensive, lots to see and do and only about 40-45 minutes from our house.

AND.....starting November 1st.....this is where my husband will be working!!!!!!

No more long drives, 95 miles each way to Lompoc at 4:30am (or o'dark thirty as we said in the Wright house); no more staying at the station because he is too tired to drive home after being in the ambulance for 12 hours; and no more getting up early because his new shift in SB starts at noon.

I am so thankful for Chris being able to get on a shift in south Santa Barbara County! Hopefully this will leave my tired, worn out husband with more energy, able to finish his college degree and more time for us to have together.

Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers (this goes to show that they work)! Have a wonderful rest of the week and please let us know what we can be praying about for you and sending good thought your way!

(This is my happy face because of Chris' new schedule!)
