Giants vs. Dodgers

On September 4th Chris' Dad, Mike, took us (and my dad, and Mike's girlfriend, Debbie) to the Giants/Dodgers game in Los Angeles. The day was absolutely beautiful and prefect weather for a baseball game! It is always fun to go to games together because Chris' family are Dodgers fans while my family supports the Giants and we have a friendly rivalry.

We had great seats, front row, behind home plate, right above the press boxes.

The voice of the Dodgers, Vin Scully.

Dodger dogs, garlic fries, and blue margaritas, delicious!

Chris and Mike wearing their Dodger Blue.

Dad and me in our Giants gear (our traditional picture for any stadium we go to).

We found love despite our rivalry!

While I can't find the picture I took of the final scoreboard (hmm...did someone delete it because they weren't happy with the results?)

It was a great game and very exciting through to the very end, where the Giants came back from behind and beat the Dodgers 5-4.

There is something special about going to a baseball game at the rival's home stadium because I feel a connection to the other Giants fans. Dodgers' fans has always been a little...aggressive... in their devotion to their team and it is always a concern wearing my Giants gear to the stadium because sometimes they get a little rowdy.

Fortunately, this time their fans were pretty tame. I was pretty disappointed at the child, approximately seven years old, who was yelling at us and screaming that Giants suck. Hopefully when we have kids, they will understand that it is just a game and to enjoy the experience no matter who wins.

And the rivalry continues...
