Washington 2010

Last weekend, Chris and I flew up to Washington to visit my Grandma. My Dad has been going up there quite often since my Grandpa passed away, a few days before our wedding, and he was there this weekend as well. He has been completing many projects for Grandma, and we were happy to be able to help with a few of them. We left foggy, cold Burbank and landed in Seattle, sunny and in the 90s! We took a ferry over to meet my Dad on Bainbridge Island. I still don't understand how people choose to live depending on the ferry schedule, but I'm sure that if I had to do it, I would adapt!

The Space Needle

Seattle has some amazing buildings, and one of their freeways is two stories!

The fire boat was out training with their pumper, which was fun to watch as we waited for the ferry.

Finally on the ferry!

Once at Grandma's, we took her dog, Jason, down to the beach where he loves to swim in the water and I found this little crab on the shore.

After going to farmers market we went to hike this 1/2 mile trail in the woods.

These painted rocks line the beginning of the trail and this one was my favorite.

Dad, Grandma, and me on the trail.

The trail was absolutely beautiful, serene, and green!

It was time to get back to work after our hike, and the big project of the trip was putting up Grandma's new mailbox. My Uncle Robert built Grandma a mailbox to match her house and of course I didn't get any pictures of the finished mailbox, but trust me when it came out wonderfully after a lot of sweat work by Dad and Chris.

Grandma love the Seattle Mariners baseball team, so Dad got us tickets and we enjoyed the game against the Yankees (even if the Mariners lost).

It was so warm, they left the roof off of the stadium.

We were also able to spend the afternoon with my Pawpaw's sweet friend Tom. It is wonderful to be with him, reminiscing about Pawpaw and having Chris meet "Grandpa Tom".

Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of Robert's family, but we did get to see them for a short visit. It was a great trip and really nice to see family and friends. It was different without Grandpa there, but it was nice to spend some time with Grandma and help her with a few projects.
