Well...it looks like I may have figured out most of my computer problems with Blogger, so here's the post I was attempting last week!
Life is still full. Chris and I are doing our best to stay connected throughout the days/weeks where we seem to be ships passing in the night due to work [texts, Facetime and little notes sure help!]
One of Chris' dreams was realized last week...
Bailey's fun personality is emerging and I enjoyed a lunch date with her last week. She often babbles away and most of the time we have no clue what she is saying. We sure enjoy watching her blossom and see glimpses of who she will be. She does say a few words, or her version of them {Dada, ball, bird, shoes, outside} and she understands a lot {Mom, Dad, Nana, Grandpa, Grandma, phone, mailbox, car, keys, outside, food, drink, etc.}.
It has been in the high 80s and 90s lately, so I decided that we deserved some frozen yogurt! Bailey has gotten the hang of feeding herself and even though she makes a mess, it's amazing to see how fast she learns new things. She is becoming quite the fashionista and loves to accessorize her outfits.
I had four days off and decided that Bailey and I needed some Nana and Grandpa time while Chris worked.
My Dad is a wonderful home bartender and made me a lemon drop, with their home grown lemons (complete with a sugared rim!). Delicious!
After Mom got off of work, we met her at the Avila Valley Barn.
{I love watching these two together!}
We took a hayride down to the apple orchard.
We all enjoyed it!
Bailey takes after her Daddy's side of the family and LOVES corn! She also loves sharing it with Mom and Dad's chickens...one bite for Bailey, one bite for the chickens! The chickens have gotten more comfortable around her and will peck at the corn in her hands.
We spent Sunday morning downtown SLO and enjoyed the imadonnari street festival. It was amazing at what the artists could create in chalk. {I even spotted a local celebrity with her family, I was so excited but just kept walking by, not wanting to be that person who interrupts their day!}
*have you checked out Lindsay's blog and shop? Her blog is usually the first one I go to in the morning and she always inspires me, whether it's with her crafts/home décor/shop items or her parenting style. She's wonderful!*
As kids, my brother and I played often in the fountain at the mission and Dad helped Bailey test out the water.
We had some long-time family friends over for dinner and Bailey was "helping" her Grandpa watch over the BBQ while chatting.
We got to watch the 49ers/Packers game together! Bailey and Grandpa enjoyed cheering on "our" team and celebrating after each touchdown!
Spending time at "home" is good for my soul and just being with my parents always makes me feel more comfortable and more me. I love watching them with Bailey and watching Bailey enjoy the same environment that I grew up in.
I'm hoping that our schedules are more in line and we get more time together as a family in the coming weeks! I'm sure I'll be sharing some boating pictures and lots more about our wonderful girl.
Have a wonderful week dear friends!
