We are slowly settling into a routine {as much as we can anyway!} with our 5 week old precious girl.
She had a check up yesterday and it's been confirmed: she is a great eater!
She now weighs 12 pounds!
{Chris' comment upon seeing her on the scale: "that's the size of a trophy large mouth bass!"}
Her head has grown 2 inches: now at 15"
She is 3/4 of an inch longer at 22 1/4"
I feel so lucky that Bailey is a great eater. I've been reading and hearing about other babies and Moms who are struggling with breastfeeding and it makes my small amount of soreness much easier to handle! I've started to pump {trying to every night} to build up a supply for when I go back to work and that causes more soreness than when Bailey is eating, but I know it's all for her so it's definitely worth it.
Bailey is still sleeping really well, usually getting up twice to eat throughout the night. She seems to know when Chris has to work the next day and tends to go right back to sleep after eating. On days that he is off, she is a little fussy around 5am, but I think that's because she knows she gets some Daddy time as Chris takes her so I can sleep a little longer.
Here are some pictures of how we spend our time lately:
Cuddling
Smiling
Taking baths {and loving them!}
Napping
Bundling up to watch Daddy play hockey
More napping
I am really glad to have this time home with Bailey, bonding, getting to know her, and just enjoying our growing family. Although, I'm trying not to think about going back to work, I know this last month of time off is going to fly by. So for now, I'm just going to enjoy each day with her and probably smell her wonderful baby smell just a few more times!
In other, non-baby news: We have found a new home for our cats, they were adopted together by a local couple and we know they are in a loving home. It's been really nice being able to keep all our bedroom doors open and not have to deal with litter boxes. I think it will be a long while before we get another pet.
Here is a little video to leave you with some extra cuteness!
Happy Wednesday!
