Babymoon

Last weekend Chris and I were able to get away for a little babymoon. We spent the weekend in San Diego, and as Chris pointed out, any vacation we take it seems to rain (Tahiti, Catalina, New York, San Diego all had rain during our vacations!)!

Saturday afternoon we arrived in San Diego and were able to check into our hotel before heading out to the Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker, and Thompson Square concert.



We wore our cowboy gear: plaid shirts, jeans, and cowboy boots!

 It was a wonderful concert! We both actually liked Darius Rucker best {he even played some Hootie and The Blowfish songs}. The night did get cold, as it was an outdoor concert and we made a Denny's stop on the way back to the hotel for hot chocolate and pancakes!

Sunday morning we slept in before heading out to the San Diego Zoo! Thankfully we brought our umbrellas just in case it rained and it started pouring about 1/2 hour before we left. Fortunately, it was just overcast prior to that and many animals were out for us to see.

They even have two panda bears, lots of snakes (EW!), and some polar bears!

I loved the zoo and we got to see a lot! I was pretty exhausted after walking around for 5 hours though!

After heading back to the hotel to warm up and dry off, the rain subsided and we decided to head over to the Gaslamp District to spend the evening. We got a recommendation for a steakhouse for dinner and it was a unique experience!

We went to the Gas Lamp Strip Club steakhouse. We didn't realize it before we arrived, but you grill your own meat on small grills placed around the restaurant. It was good, but it was so dark back at our table, we couldn't really see if our steaks were done as we liked them, so if you go, I suggest bringing a small flashlight!

After dinner we walked up and down the main street and stopped off at Ghirardelli for a shared banana split.

Monday we checked out of our hotel and went to the Hash House A Go Go on the recommendation of my friend, April. There was 30-45 minute wait, but we figured it would be worth it and we weren't disappointed! They served wonderful food, and HUGE portions!!

We had a wonderful babymoon, just being able to get out of the house and not focus on errands or chores and just enjoy being together was wonderful!
